PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of securely aligning sheets on a loading tray by a movable regulation plate for aligning the sheets, feeding the sheets in a proper posture, and preventing sheet feeding failure.SOLUTION: A sheet feeder comprises: pressure members 51 and 58 for pressing and regulating one end part in a width direction of sheets on a loading tray 32; a regulation plate 34 disposed oppositely to the pressure members 51 and 58 to regulate the other end part in the width direction of the sheets on the loading tray; plate springs 50 and 57 for biasing the pressure members 51 and 58 to the regulation plate 34 side; and biasing force changing means 70 for changing the biasing force generated by the plate springs 50 and 57 on the basis of the type of the sheets loaded on the loading tray 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
