PURPOSE:To carry out a partial treatment such as partial plating with excellent dependiability and operability by sticking a masking tape obtained by providing a photoresist pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on a light transmittable supporting body on the part unnecessary to be treated. CONSTITUTION:In the partial treatment of the surface of a body such as plating, a masking tape consisting of a light-transmittalbe supporting body of PVC, etc. and an upper pressure-sensitive adhesive layer which is cured and three-dimensionally reticulated by the irradiation of light is stuck on the part not to be treated, and the part to be treated is subjected to plating, etc. Said pressure sensitive layer is formed by incorporating a low-molecular weight photopolymerizable compd. such as trimethylolpropane triacylate having at least two photopolymerizable carbon-carbon bonds in the molecule and <=10,000mol.wt. and a photopolymerization initiator such as isopropylbenzoin ether into a common rubber or acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. After the treatment, the masking tape can be easily released by the irradiation of light.
