PURPOSE:To derive quantitatively an exciting rush current by plotting the exciting rush current by a ratio of the miximum value of the exciting rush current generated in case a power reactor having a magnetizing saturation characteristic is connected to a power source through a power line, and a reactor terminal voltage. CONSTITUTION:A current-magnetic flux characteristic of the whole system consisting of a reactor 1 having a magnetizing saturation characteristic, a switch 2, reactance 3 corresponding to the short circuit capacity portion of an electric power system, and a sine wave constant-voltage source 4 is derived, and also a residual megnatic flux phio is extended to the left side, and a sub-graph is drawn by an expression containing a adapting phase angle alpha. Also, the maximum value of an exciting rush current is derived from a quadrature axis of an intersection point of a line of phi=phio+2phim. Moreover, when a point B is derived by overwriting the current-magnetic flux characteristic of a saturation reactor simplex, a drop quantity of a terminal voltage of a saturation reactor apparatus goes to b/aX100%. Also, in case the phase alpha is set, an exciting rush current value and a voltage drop quantity are derived by deriving successively intersection points C, D and E.
