PURPOSE:To clean the upper part of a gas flue of an oven lid for a coke oven with compressed air and the lower part with high-pressure water and remove stuck tar rapidly with certainty, by using an oven lid cleaner having an oven lid side cleaning device provided in a lifting and lowering device supported by a machine frame. CONSTITUTION:An oven lid 6 is held by an oven lid remover, and a machine base 4 is lowered to blow air under 4-5kg/cm<2> pressure from a nozzle 14 on a gas flue 13 to remove tar in the upper and lower parts of the gas flue 13. After the machine base 4 is lowered to about the middle of the oven lid 6 or below, a high-pressure water nozzle 19 is lowered along a vertical guide 15 to jet a small amount of high-pressure water under about 1,500kg/cm<2> pressure from the nozzle 19 to remove tar in the lower part of the gas flue 13. Tar on the undersurface of the gas flue 13 of the oven lid 16 is removed by high-pressure water jetted from a nozzle 20 along a horizontal guide 16 in the same manner as described above. EFFECT:The use efficiency of the high-pressure water with large energy consumption is increased, and the amount of water to be used is reduced. Thus, the equipment is simplified, and the sewage treatment after the cleaning is facilitated.
