PURPOSE:To permit easy operation and to enable improvement in the degree of optical coupling by using a square-shaped bushing in the stage of fixing the bushing for an electrode lead to a housing to which a semiconductor element is mounted thereby using butt welding with laser light for welding. CONSTITUTION:A notched surface 7 is provided to the body part 2A of the housing 2 to which the semiconductor element 6 is mounted and a slotted part 21 is formed so as to intersect orthogonally therewith. The square bushing 22 is used for the bushing to be inserted with the electrode lead 41. Fixing of the bushing is executed by bringing the bushing 22 into press contact with the housing 2 and fixing the ridgeline part of the bushing 22 and the surface 7 by butt welding with laser light 24. Since butt welding can be used for welding, the operation is extremely easy. The element 6 is kept free from undue stress by welding and therefore the degree of optical coupling is stabilized. |
