The present invention relates to an ultrasonic image device capable of improving power efficiency and reducing signal distortion and a control method for the ultrasonic image device. The ultrasonic image device includes: a user interface which receives an input signal from a user; and a power unit which includes a plurality of power groups to supply power to drive a plurality of components corresponding to the plurality of power groups and a power processor to search for power data corresponding to the received input signal among predefined power data and control power supplied to the plurality of components corresponding to the plurality of power groups depending on the found power data.
