PRODUCTION OF HEAD HOLDING BODY

PURPOSE:To prevent contact between adjacent magnetic shielding plates and to decrease the leakage flux between plural magnetic heads by removing the plastically deformed parts produced in the stage of grinding or polishing the magnetic shielding plates. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic body 3 having a holding surface 1 and a surface 2 to contact with a medium is formed. The plural magnetic shielding plates 4 are adhered to the body 3 in the stage of laminating insulating layers 5 on the adjacent opposed surfaces thereof. The front edges 7a of the plates 4 and the layers 5 are finished to a smooth surface by grinding or polishing. The contact of the plates 4 is prevented by removing the plastically deformed parts of the plates 4 produced during said grinding or polishing and therefore the leakage flux between the magnetic heads is decreased.
