PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photosensitive material superior in sensitivity, raw storage stability, etc., by incorporating a water-soluble oxidizing agent in a coating fluid immediately before coating a support with a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and/or a nonphotosensitive emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The intended silver halide photosensitive material is obtained by incorporating a water-soluble oxidizing agent in a coating fluid immediately before coating the support with the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and/or the nonphotosensitive emulsion layer, and coating it. As the embodiable water-soluble oxidizing agent, potassium ferricyanate, potassium bichromate, etc. are used, preferably, in an amt. of 1X10<-5>-1X10<-3>mol. The obtained photosensitive material is subjected to proper uniform exposure during development, or developed in the presence of a fogging agent after imagewise exposure, and it is suitable for formation of a direct positive image. |
