PURPOSE:To utilize effectively the quantity of light of a light emitting element for destaticizing a non-image region in the stage of variable power and prevent an adverse effect to an image region by attaching a reflecting plate so as to face an image carrying body. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting plate R is disposed to the light emitting element L for illumination to be used for destaticization of the non-image region to be generated in the stage of variable power in the position where said plate faces directly a photosensitive body D. All the luminous flux which is scattered to the area except the prescribed destaticizing area of the body D out of the luminous flux from the element L in the conventional practice can be thereby projected again to the prescribed area. The quantity of the light of the element L is thus extremely effectively utilized and the adverse influence arising from the intrusion of the projecting light into the image region is prevented. |
