PURPOSE:To limit rush current by connecting relay contacts and main controller in series to the primary side of a power transformer for charging of a capacitor for light emission of a flash lamp and connecting a rush current preventing circuit in parallel to the main controller and closing the relay contact then conducting electricity thereto. CONSTITUTION:The primary side of the power transformer 1 for a fixing device is connected to an AC power source via the main controller consisting of triac and relay contacts 3, 3. Full-wave rectifiers 6, 7 connected respectively in series with a capacitor C4 and a reactor 5 are connected in parallel to the secondary side thereof to charge C9 for light emission of the flash lamp 8. When a copy instruction signal (a) is inputted to a charging voltage controller 11, a relay energizing signal (b) is outputted to close the contacts 3 and the transient current below the prescribed value flows through the rush current preventing circuit 14 to the transformer 3. A charging start signal C is outputted to conduct electricity to the main controller 2 and C9 is charged to the prescribed value after the set time of a timer. The rush current to the fixing device is thus limited. |
