PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate the compensation of positioning angle of a C-shaft in a combined lathe which carries out a mealing process, etc. under the control of rotational speed of the spindle of the lathe, by generating errors of positioning in a predetermined pattern upon disengagement of the C-shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a combined machining lathe 1, upon disengagement of the C-shaft, a gear 16 on a drive shaft 15 is uncoupled from a gear 9 after the gear 16 is positioned at a predetermined C-shaft disengagement position, and then the gear 16 is held at the disengagement position. Upon engagement of the C-shaft the gear 9 on a spindle 5 is positioned at a predetermined C-shaft engagement position. Thereafter the gear 9 on the spindle 5 is engaged with the gear 16 on the drive shaft 15 which has been held. Accordingly, upon engagement of the C-shaft the gear 9 and the gear 16 are engaged together at the same gear position, and therefore, errors of positioning occurring in the spindle 5 are generated in an identical pattern, thereby it is possible to facilitate the compensation of errors. |
