PURPOSE:To obtain an image recorder which permits easy maintenance and is small in size by moving a recording medium consisting of a dielectric material, etc. at a specified speed in a specified direction and moving relatively a recording head having an ion generator positioned to face thereto in the moving direction. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium 1 is moved at a specified speed in a direction (a) and the ion generator 2 is made movable longitudinally and transversely with respect to the moving direction thereof. The 2nd and 3rd electrodes 4, 5 and the conductive base body 1a of the medium 1 are grounded (e). Positive and negative ions are generated in the aperture 8 of the 2nd electrode 4 when an AC voltage is impressed between the electrodes 3 and 4. An image signal is applied to the 2nd electrode 4 from a character generator 10 and the negative DC is kept impressed at all times to the 4th electrode 5, then the negative ions of the ions are extracted and are stuck to the medium 1 if there is the image signal. The ions are not extracted if there is no image signal. |
