ROTARY CYLINDER OF MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent damage to a magnetic tape by arranging a magnetic head in a recessed part formed in the reverse surface of the rotary cylinder so that the tip of the head projects from the outer peripheral surface of the rotary cylinder, and boring a hole penetrating the recessed part from the top surface of the rotary cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A holder 18 has a projection piece 18 covered slantingly on an air path 19 through an arm 18a, and this projection piece 18b is arranged forming a wedge shape together with an upper rotary cylinder 16 which rotates as shown by an arrow A. Therefore, the upper rotary cylinder 16 rotates as shown by the arrow A and then air is sent in the air path 19 as shown by an arrow C. The air sent in this air path 19 moves therein as shown by an arrow C to reach a window 10, and then is discharged toward the outer periphery of the upper rotary cylinder 16. The magnetic tape 4 is supported with the air pressure from the window 10 and never contacts an edge part of the window 10.
