PURPOSE:To lighten the burden imposed on functions at the terminal device side and that imposed on operations at the time of user's transactions by executing programs of an IC card after they are rewritten to the latest programs executable for a terminal device. CONSTITUTION:IC cards are stored in a ROM2. Program numbers and their version numbers of a storage program are read out and transmitted to a terminal device consisting of a main control part 8, etc. A terminal device side searches a memory area. If the program number concerned exists, said side compares the received version number with the version number of the program concerned. When version numbers are dissident, the main control part 8 rewrites programs of the IC card stored in a storage program buffer to the latest programs executable for the terminal device with the aid of program renewal data, and transmits these rewritten programs to the IC card. |
