A hinged lid (12) type pack (1) for cigarettes or other consumable products is disclosed. The lid (12) of the pack is provided with a locking mechanism comprising a locking tab (115) connected by a tab hinge (119) to a front wall (110) of the pack, and an engagement portion (125) located on an inner side of a front wall (121) of the lid, for engaging with the locking tab, the locking tab (115) having a base adjacent the tab hinge (119), a tip (116) distal to the tab hinge (119), and sides (117, 118) extending between the base and the tip, wherein the locking tab (115) and the engagement portion (125) are configured such that the sides (117, 118) of the locking tab are engageable with the engagement portion (125) and prevent a section of the locking tab from being received in the engagement portion. The pack (1) may be folded from a blank. |
