A communication system comprising: a camera torch (11) adapted to gather data, such as an image of a face, a fingerprint or a crime scene, and transmit the data to a receiving station (12), where the data may be stored in a secure memory (124). Means (130) may also be provided at the receiving station (12) to analyse, assess and compare the data with stored data and communicate the result to a remote operator, which may be the user of the camera torch (11), so as to provide an information about the person or object being imaged. The system is adapted to handle a range of data including human identification characteristics; such as fingerprints and iris patters. |
