PURPOSE:To prevent the production of a useless copy where an image is omitted by discharging a document onto a paper discharge table when the document is laterally shifted more than the regulated amount in the case where the document is gradually shifted laterally during repeatedly transporting one sheet document to make a lot of copies. CONSTITUTION:The first and second detection means 29, 225 are disposed at the substantially central positions of the first and second transport paths, respectively. The third and fourth detection members 217, 218 are disposed at a designated space larger than the width of a document therebetween at a position aligned with the second detection member 225. According to an output of the first detection signal, the first count signal corresponding to the length of the document in the transport direction is output from the first counter means A to be compared with an output of the second counter means B by comparison means C. When the second count signal amounts to the half of the count number of the first count signal, a comparison signal is output, and when the third and fourth detection signals are simultaneously input to stop means D, a driving member 153 is driven to discharge a document. |
