<p>PURPOSE:To enhance wide use property of a multiple sheet feeder which can be installed at a cassette install portion of an image formation apparatus in place of a cassette by providing a paper transport portion with a screen member for opening and closing an optical path for optical detection means for detecting a sheet of a copying machine. CONSTITUTION:A multiple sheet feeder 2 includes a lifter tray 5 where stacked sheets 4 are placed, and a paper transport portion 14 having a pick-up roller 6 for separating the uppermost sheet from the stacked sheets 4 and feeding same, transport rollers 7, 8, and a roller 13 for feeding a sheet into a copying machine in co-operation with a paper feed roller 17 of the copying machine, which is installed at a cassette install portion of the copying machine. In this arrangement, a shutter 16 pivoted by a plunger 15 is disposed between a paper detection lamp 9 of the copying machine and a photodetecting element 10 for receiving the detection light in the paper transport portion 14. When stacked sheets 4 are out, and a switch 11 is turned off, the plunger 15 is excited to open the shutter 16, so that it is detected on copying machine side that the sheets are used up.</p> |
