PURPOSE:To enhance the working efficiency of setting of touch rollers, by supporting the supprt frames of touch rollers each provided for every splitted sheet, to a common support beam such that the frames are movable, independently from each other through the intermediary of a releasing mechanism in association with the rotation of a screw shaft. CONSTITUTION:A sheet splitting and winding machine splits a belt-like sheet S into two halves which are separated from each other in opposite directions, with the use of a slitter 2, and winds up both halves S', simultaneously, while winding shafts C and touch rollers T which are provided each for every halves S' apply a contact pressure to sheet rolls R. In this case a screw drive shaft 4 coupled at its one end to a drive unit is made pierce through a pair of support frames 1 for disengageably supporting both ends of each touch roller T. Further, a releasing mechanism 6 which may be disengageably coupled to a female screw 5 fitted onto the screw drive shaft 4 is provided in each support frame 1, having a pneumatic cylinder 8 adapted to be operated by compressed air fed through a hose 9.
