PURPOSE:To reduce the variation ratio of the driving comfortableness which is varied according to loaded condition of a vehicle in a laminated leaf spring type suspension unit by detecting loaded condition thereof and controlling leaf springs for the fastening force to the springs when the detected load is over the specified load. CONSTITUTION:A magnitude of compression load which is applied to a load detecting spring 33 is detected by a sensor 31 and then sent to a comparator 32. The comparator 32 compares the detected load with the specified value and if the detected load is greater than it, the comparator opens a hydraulic control valve 26 to have oil pressure applied to clamp mechanisms 18 and 19. The clamps are therefore turned on. Since leaf-to-leaf friction force can be automatically increased according to load, the satisfactory driving comfortableness can be obtained even if load is varied, thereby improving the steering stability. |
