PURPOSE:To improve the color regeneration performance with simple constitution by obtaining color signals from color separation signals R (red), G (green) and B (blue) respectively and subtracting the 1st correction coefficient selected by a density signal from each color signal and also performing multiplication and addition to the result of said subtraction by and from the 2nd correction coefficient selected by the density signal respectively. CONSTITUTION:The reflection factor signals of R, G and B undergo the logarithmic conversion through logarithmic converters 1a-1c, and color signals C0, M0 and Y0 are outputted from converters 1a-1c. Then piece parameters bC, bM and bY obtained from tables 2-4 undergo the subtraction processing with signals C0, M0 and C0 respectively through subtractors 10a-10c. Then masking circuits 9a-9c execute calculation for sum of products based on the output signals of subtractors 10a-10c and the sloping parameters outputted from tables 5-7. Thus color signals C1, M1 and Y1 are obtained in response to the quantity of recording ink.
