The invention relates to a device for wire guiding an automobile vehicle by passive wire. The subject of the invention is a wire guidance device for an automobile vehicle by passive wire, characterised in that it comprises a wire 5 made of an electrically-conducting material, arranged on the ground along the track which the vehicle 1, 2 has to follow and an active system installed on the vehicle and acting on a device 3 for slaving the position of the steering wheels 2 of the vehicle, the said system being constituted by a radio frequency transmitter 7 and a tuned receiver 4 mounted so as to move a small distance above the wire 5.
