In a process for post-insulating a bend of a thermally insulated pipeline consisting of an inner pipe, preferably of steel, which carries the medium, a jacket pipe of plastic which concentrically surrounds the inner pipe at a distance and a thermal insulation layer of foam, preferably polyurethane, arranged between the inner pipe and the jacket pipe, first of all the pipeline sections extending at an angle to one another are welded together with the interposition of a pipe bend. A mould lying on the ends of the pipelines is placed on over the connecting point and the annular space between the mould and the pipe bend is foamed using a polyurethane in-situ foam. As the mould, a tubular plastics moulding is used which has a longitudinal slit and is pushed over the connecting point. The welding of the longitudinal seam and the circumferential seams is carried out by means of electrically heatable heater bands. |
