PURPOSE:To obtain a product containing coexisting alabaster glass and opal glass in a desired position and desired concentration, by locally heating an alabaster glass product prepared by molding a glass raw material containing an opacifier. CONSTITUTION:A glass raw material containing an opacifier, e.g. a fluoride is melted and cooled while being molded into the form of a bottle 1 in a mold to form an alabaster glass product. The bottle 1 is then kept within a temperature region not to break the bottle 1 even by local heating, and a heating device consisting of burners 3 is moved downward from almost the middle part of the bottle 1 while rotating the bottle 1. The bottle 1 is then locally heated to deposit and increase crystals of the above-mentioned opacifier in the glass. Thus, the locally heated part is changed into opaque opal glass in the interior of the bottle 1 consisting of the alabaster glass having some transparency to give the aimed product.
