PURPOSE:To make the apparatus easy to use and to reduce the failure by forming the screw of an agitated vessel connected to a nonflush toilet into a ribbon screw revolving in one direction. CONSTITUTION:An agitated vessel 9 connected to a nonflush toilet contains screws 18, 18', and 18'' which are geared to a driving device 21, and is connected to a fermentation vessel below the vessel 9. A ventilator is connected to the fermentation vessel. In said night soil fermentation apparatus, most part of the screws 18, 18', and 18'' of the agitated vessel 9 are formed into a ribbon screw revolving in one direction. The night soil chuted from the nonflush toilet to the agitated vessel is agitated and mixed at the base part, and favorably sent down successively into the fermentation vessel. Since both shaft and ribbon screw turn around in one direction due to the revolution in one direction of a motor, the load of the motor is not increased, and failures are reduced with a simple controller.
