The housing consists of two identical pieces (1) made of synthetic material, each piece forming half the complete housing. The joining face (8) is on the horizontal, or longitudinal plane of the assembled housing. Each section (1) has recesses and projections on its edge which mate with corresponding parts on the other half housing. Internally the housing has fixings (35,36,37) designed to hold components and printed circuit boards (10,11,12). The half housings (1) are held together by external spring clips which locate in recesses in the outside faces of the sections (1).
