METHOD OF PRODUCING MULTILAYER CERAMIC CAPACITOR AND DEVICE THEREFOR

Break lines are scored on both sides of the slab simultaneously so that spontaneous breaking occurs through the unscored thickness of the slab. The scoring cuts penetrate to 10 percent of the slab's thickness. For the scoring the slab is held in a spring frame. The scoring consists of two orthogonal sets of parallel lines on each side of the slab. The scoring elements have blunt scoring edges with a cross-sectional radius of curvature of at least 30 microns. The system has an upper and lower block each with scoring elements. A carriage carries the frame between the blocks.
