PURPOSE:To hold down aging changes of an elastic supporting body up to a minimum to reproduce information signals stably for a long period by supporting a signal detecting element with the elastic supporting body and oscillating the elastic supporting body with an amplitude larger than that required for reproducing independently of the signal reproducing operation. CONSTITUTION:A pickup arm is supported by an elastic supporting body 6 consisting of rubber or the like, and tracking coils 7 and 8 are connected to a control circuit 11 through a driving circuit 10 at a signal reproducing time to perform the tracking control. Unless signals are reproduced, they are connected to an oscillating circuit 12, and the oscillation with a large amplitude is given in the tracking direction as required. Since a signal detecting element 2 is oscillated with an amplitude larger than that required for normal tracking servo, the rigidity of the elastic supporting body 6 is restored to the initial state approximately. Thus, aging changes of the elastic supporting body 6 are held down to a minimum, and information signals are reproduced stably for a long period. |
