PURPOSE:To heat-treat uniformly metallic powder in short time without solidifying the same by heating the slopes in a cylindrical body to a prescribed temp. and dropping the metallic powder by the own weight thereof on said slopes with fluid passages for the powder. CONSTITUTION:Plural sheets of inclined plates 2,... having about 30 deg. inclination are alternately provided to face each other in the perpendicularly supported cylindrical body 1 and a feed port 3 connecting to a rotary replenisher 4 provided with a circular casing 6, an open/shut cap 5, a swiveling vane 7, etc. is provided to the top end of the body 1. A discharge port 8 provided with a damper 9 is provided to the bottom end. A required atmosphere gas such as H2 is introduced through a gas feed port 11 into said body 1 or while the inside of the cylindrical body is evacuated to a vacuum, the inside of the cylindrical body 1 is heated to a prescribed temp. by an electric heater 10 provided on the outside circumference. The metallic powder is supplied through the port 3 into the cylindrical body and if necessary oscillation is applied thereto by an exciting machine 12. The metallic powder flows downward on the slopes of the inclined plates 2 and falls by drawing zigzag loci. The powder is thus subjected to the desired heat treatment and is taken out of the port 8.
