The sides of tree trunks transported in a longitudinal direction are shaved by two cutting heads (4), which are arranged with rotation axis parallel to each other and are driven in opposite directions of rotation. The cutting circles (4a) of the two cutting heads (4) overlap. The cutting edges (4b) of each cutting head (4) engage, without coming into contact, with the gaps (4c) between the cutting edges (4b) of the other cutting head (4). Both cutting heads are driven in compulsory synchronized operation. In the same way, the teeth of the circular saws, which are arranged coaxially and at a distance from the cutting heads (4) engage with one another without coming into contact. The power of the two cutting heads (4) is applied to the tree trunk essentially simultaneously and uniformally, so that large one-sided forces are avoided which would have to be absorbed by the guides for the tree trunks.
|
