The invention relates to a device for dedusting the exhaust gases from internal combustion engines and internal combustion systems, at least one emission electrode (2) and, on each side thereof, in each case one electron collector (3, 4) being arranged for the dedusting. In order always to keep the efficiency of the device at the same level, in particular in order always to obtain the same amount of precipitated dust between an emission electrode (2) and an electron collector (3, 4) and, in addition, to be able to precipitate dust particles smaller than 1 mu m in size, the electron collectors (3 and 4) are constructed as movable continuous belts with brush-like surfaces (3B, 4B). Each continuous belt is guided via two rollers (3W, 4W) so that it is possible to move the continuous belt continuously onwards. If a dust layer has been formed in the surface of an electron collector (3, 4), the continuous belt is moved, by turning the rollers (3W, 4W), into an area which is located below the baseplate (5) of the device. Here, devices for cleaning the brush-like surfaces (3B, 4B) are provided. The cleaned belt element can be subsequently moved back upwards into the area of the emission electrode (2) and again used to precipitate dust (20). <IMAGE>
