<p>PURPOSE:To improve efficiency and yield by storing the thickness deviation in a specified length range of n-th pass, and collating and detecting as standard pattern of (n+1)-th pass by reversing the order of the length. CONSTITUTION:Plate thickness deviation signals of a thickness gauge 5 are stored in a pattern memory section 16 by a transmitter 12 for a predetermined length range from the time of starting of n pass 10 by a switch 14. For n=1 pass in which the direction of rolling is reversed, the order of length of the plate thickness pattern is reversed and transferred to a standard pattern memory section 17. Then, in (n+1) pass 11, the plate thickness deviation signal inputted to a memory section 15 is collated with the standard pattern of the memory section 17, and when they are recognized as the same pattern, the tail end of the coil is detected, and a command is given to a rolling mill controlling device to stop the mill. By this method, high accuracy of stopping is obtained, and at the same time, the efficiency and yield are improved.</p> |
