A method for detecting an identification friend or foe (IFF) signal based on a sliding window according to the present invention comprises: a first step of configuring the set of pulse description words (PDWs) including the data of time of arrival (TOA), a frequency, a pulse width and a pulse intensity as a result of receiving collected pulses; a second step of detecting and extracting an IFF Mode 4 signal by configuring a sliding window (SW) in the PDWs; a third step of detecting and extracting IFF Mode 1, 2, 3, A and C signals by configuring a frame pulse (F) in the PDWs; a fourth step of detecting and extracting an IFF Mode S signal by configuring an SW in the PDWs; and a fifth step of calculating and storing the specifications of the extracted signals for each mode. Therefore, the characteristics of IFF signals are considered for each mode and particularly, the performance of extracting IFF signals is maximized for each mode.
