摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent useless consumption of a transfer film by performing operation of a coil spring clutch in linkage with a head pressing solenoid to halt the ribbon winding action in the skipping and the returning operation while the load for winding the ribbon which is applied to a carriage transversing drive source is reduced to zero to satisfy the skipping function. CONSTITUTION:In the skipping operation, as the suction force of a solenoid 44 is released, a solenoid lever 46 is turned in the angle by a return force of a head return spring 50, a thermosensitive head 6 is separated from a platen while a pinion 49 meshes with a braking gear 57 and the rotation of the braking gear 57 is constrained. At the same time, one end 56a of a coil spring 56 meshed therewith to keep the coil spring 56 from winding on a pulley 54 and a driven transmission piece 55. Thus, the rotating force working on the pulley 54 is cut off. In the return operation, since the pulley 54 rotates in the opposite direction to that in the printing operation, there is no winding of the coil spring 56 and no rotating force is transmitted.
