PURPOSE:To perform accurate focus detection with high precision even if the environmental temperature of a camera varies by correcting specific data according to the environmental temperature and canceling variation in defocusing quantity with the lens gap between image forming lenses during variation in temperature. CONSTITUTION:The interval detection output of a photosensor array 42 as to two images formed through the couple of image forming lenses is supplied to a defocusing quantity calculating part 68 through a multiplexer 48 and an A/D converter 60 to calculate the quantity of defocusing from a focus position. This calculating part 68 is supplied with the camera environmental temperature detection output of a temperature detecting circuit 50 through the multiplexer 48 and A/D converter 60. Then, the calculating part 68 corrects some of image interval data, reference data on a specific interval, image interval deviation data, and defocusing quantity data to cancel variation in the defocusing quantity according to the lens gap variation with temperature. Therefore, the focus detection is carried out accurately with high precision even if the environmental temperature varies. |
