PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure controller which has a simple structure and a reliable operation by expanding and contracting fluid with electronic heating/ cooling unit as an actuator. CONSTITUTION:One side wall of a housing 10 of a pressure controller is opened, and a plate 12 made of thermal conductor is engaged fixedly with the housing. An electronic heating/cooling unit 14 formed of N type and P type semiconductors is secured to the outside of the plate 12, and connected to a DC power source 15. One side of the housing 10 is blocked by a flexible member 16, a rod 20 is disposed through a holding member 18, and gas 24 which is expanded and contracted by heat is sealed in a room 22 of the blocked housing 10. Thus, a voltage of the prescribed polarity is applied from a power source 15 to an electronic heating/cooling unit 14 to heat (cool) gas 24 in the room 22 through the plate 12 to expand (contract) the gas 24, thereby displacing the rod 20 through the member 16 in the direction of an arrow A(B) to obtain the prescribed drive power. |
