摘要 PURPOSE:To attain a position detecting and guiding device which fulfills functions of position detection, guide, and a safety device, by controlling the movement of a robot, which is moved straight toward a light in one direction and is stopped when the light is intercepted or lights in two directions are detected, with optical transmitters and receivers. CONSTITUTION:When the light is transmitted from an optical transmitter and receiver 1a attached to a wall 4 in a plant, a carrying robot 2 goes straight toward the optical transmitter and receiver 1a, and the position of the carrying robot 2 is detected on the line connecting optical transmitters and receivers 1a and 1b because the optical transmitter and receiver 1b cannot receive the light. When the light is transmitted from an optical transmitter and receiver 1c, the carrying robot 2 comes to a point X to receive lights in two directions and is stopped. When an optical transmitter and receiver 1d detect interception of the light, light transmission from the optical transmitter and receiver 1a is stopped. The robot 2 is automatically turned to the optical transmitter and receiver 1c. Thus, the robot is guided to an optional position in the plant and is stopped at the light interception time, and therefore, the safety is improved.
