PURPOSE:To enable free feeding of paper by arranging a paper feed knob to jut to the printer body upon the pressing of a push button. CONSTITUTION:When a push button 8 is pressed at the state shown by the solid line, a guide projection 8e of the push button 8 shifts a guide groove 1e of a paper feed transmission clutch wheel 1 to release the engagement between an elastic pawl 9c and a projection 1c and the push button 8 and a paper feed knob 9 are moved by an elastic force of a push button spring 7 to the position of the engagement between a fixed pawl 9d and the projection 1d to make the paper feed knob 9 jut from the printer body (as shown by the alternate long and short dash line). This enables a manual printing paper feeding action using the paper feed knob. Under such a condition, when the knob 9 is pressed, it is retained inside the printer with the elastic pawl 9c of the paper feed knob 9 and the projection 1c of the paper feed transmission clutch wheel 1. In addition, as this paper feeding operation by the paper feed knob is done independently of the paper feed driving source, it also serves as a detent mechanism for the operation of the printing paper feed knob. |
