PURPOSE:To improve the processing speed by preventing duplication of complicated processings such as saving of registers, etc. accompanied with the interrupt processing. CONSTITUTION:When an interruption of a level iRQ is generated, a processor of a communication controller checks contents of a mask after the executing instruction is terminated. If the mask is turned ON, a program executed at present is executed continuously because the program has the level iRQ. If the mask is turned OFF, contents of a program counter and internal registers which are used till then are saved in a specific area of a memory, and the mask is turned ON for the purpose of evading the interruption of another program, and thereafter, contents of the program counter are replaced by a jump instruction to start the interruption processing of the level iRQ.
