In the case of a device for forming a supporting jacket, especially for cable sleeves, from two supporting half shells (1) having edge regions which can be deformed on the ends of the half shells, it is intended to create a solution by means of which, while maintaining the high load capacity of the half shells of the supporting jacket, the deforming capability of the edge regions, which deforming capability is designed to correspond to the loads, is likewise guaranteed, as is simple assembly of the device. This is achieved in that the edge regions (2, 3) of the supporting half shells (1) are formed by an easily deformable film (4), the film (4) being provided with reinforcement (5) which permits the deformation. <IMAGE>
