PURPOSE:To carry out the adjustment of backlash, by linearly changing the relative addendum modification coefficients of spur gears so that it is large at one end in the axial direction thereof but is small at the other end, and by journalling the spur gears movably in the axial direction thereto. CONSTITUTION:In a body in which a pair of drive and driven spur gears 4, 5 that are meshed together between their input and output shafts 2, 3 are journalled, the relative addendum modification coefficients of the spur gears 4, 5 are linearly changed so that it is large at one end in the rotary axial direction but is small at the other end, and the sum of the addendum modification coefficients of both spur gears 4, 5 is made constant in the meshed section thereof. Further, the drive spur gear shaft 4 is journalled movably in the axial direction with respect to the input shaft 2. Therefore, only by moving and adjusting one of the gears in the axial direction, the gap between the meshed gears may be removed or adjusted to adjust the backlash. |
