PURPOSE:To shut off a pipe line with no use of a drive source such as, for example, electric power source, by coupling a breakage detecting member to a shut-off valve. CONSTITUTION:When a part of a gas pipe line 1 which is supported on a bridge 3 is largely deformed together with the bridge 3, a wire 5 is drawn toward the bridge. Since this wire 5 pulls a large diameter shaft 12 on a shaft 10, this large diameter shaft 12 is separated from the shaft 10. Since a spherical valve 11 is released from the holding condition thereof at its opened position, the valve 11 drops by its weight along the shaft 10, and is pushed by the pressure of gas flowing through a gas passage 7, and abuts under pressure against a valve seat 13 positioned on the downstream side to establish its valve closed condition, in order to shut off the gas passage 7, thereby it is possible to prevent gas from jetting through a broken part. |
