PURPOSE:To prevent water, leaking down past a door, from entering a car room without installing a bead having poor appearance, by a method wherein high water absorption resin is coated in 2 grooves in a portion located below a gap between a door inner panel and a door trim. CONSTITUTION:2 Grooves 22 are formed in an upper surface 14 of a projection 12 of a kicking plate 1, i.e., a portion located below a gap 17 between a door inner panel 15 and a door trim 16 and along the longitudinal direction of the upper surface 14. High water absorption resin 24 is coated on bottom surfaces 23 of the grooves 22. This causes water A, entering the gap 17, to be absorbed by the high absorption resin 24 to hold the water in the grooves 22, resulting in prevention of the water A into a car room R. Especially, the two grooves 22 are formed, and the high water absorption resin 24 is coated, and this enables the water A to be completely prevented from entering the car room R. The high water absorption resin 24, expanded resulting from absorption, is naturally dried in a short time and is restored to its original state.
