The method involves pre-filtering source images so as to obtain corresponding pre-filtered images. A similarity parameter of pixels of a block of one of the pre-filtered images correspondent to an address with the pixels of the block of the other pre-filtered image associated by a movement vector with the block address, is estimated. A filtering effort value is determined based on estimated similarity parameters. The pixels of the block of one of the source images corresponding to the block address are filtered based on the determined filtering effort value. The filtering is spatial filtering, temporal filtering and anisotropic filtering. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for executing a method for suppressing noise in an image of a video sequence (2) a device for suppressing noise in a video sequence, including a pre-filtering unit. |
