The ball valve member 376 has a flattened surface 378 against which an armature 258 of a solenoid assembly operatively engages and through the action of a spring 372 urges the ball valve member toward a seated condition. The ball valve member 376 provides an additional armature. The armature 258 is fixed to a non- magnetic guide 242 slidable in the pole piece 206 and engageable with the adjacent end surface of the pole piece to prevent contact between the armature and pole piece. The valve meters fuel into the induction passage (14, Fig. 1) of a throttle body (12) or into the air stream immediately upstream of an i.c. engine intake valve. <IMAGE> |
