PURPOSE:To prevent the staying of residual snow on the lower end portion of a solar energy collector during the defrosting drain after frosting and during snowfall period by a method in which refrigerant is dividedly flowed and during the defrosting operation the flow direction of the refrigerant in each conduit is reversed. CONSTITUTION:Since the temperature of a refrigerant vapor flowing in a collector 6 is lowered in the low-temperature winter season, frosting occurs on the whole surface of the collector to lower the amount of heat to be collected. For defrosting operations, overheated refrigerant gas discharged from a compressor 1 is flowed through a four-way valve 2 to the upper stage conduit 6a and lower stage conduit 6b of the collector 6 by a reversal cycle defrosting operation, as shown by the broken line in the Fig. Since the overheated refrigerant gas is flowed up the conduit 6a and also down the conduit 6b where frosting and staying of defrosting drain tend to occur extremely, defrosting can be completely attained, and the areas of the collector 6 can be utilized maximally in the heat collecting operation after the defrosting. The amount of heat to be collected can thus be increased and energy to be used in the solar energy utilization system can be greatly saved. |
