PHOTOMAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain a compact design of the titled device by using a magnetism masking means to cut off the lines of magnetic force of a magnet and therefore putting the magnet close to a recording medium without affecting a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:An erasion head 13 which can move toward the radius shown by an arrow head (a) of a disk 6 is provided under the disk 6. An erasion motor 19 is driven to move the head 13 toward the head (a). In this case, the head 13 produces a line of magnetic force having width l1 and vertical to the surface of the disk 6 and erases the information recorded within a recording area of the disk 6. After the erasion the head 13 is stored in a U-shaped iron yoke 20 provided at the end of one side of a guide member 14 in order to prevent the effects of said line of magnetic force to the disk 6.
