PURPOSE:To raise the life of the suction pump of a CO2 detector by detecting the concentration of CO2 in a sampling manner. CONSTITUTION:The measurement of the concentration of CO2 is made at timings t1, t2, and t3 at the interval of time t0. In this case, the operation of a suction pump 4 is made for the time tp immediately before the CO2 concentration detection timings t1, t2, and t3, or only for the portion shown by the oblique lines in the Fig., permitting the suction pump to be operated continuously and preventing the shortening of the life. In this case, the startup timing of the fan equals to the timing t1, t2, and t3, and the operational continuance time tx of the fan is determined by the deviation between a set CO2 concentration and detected value of CO2.
