PURPOSE:To eliminate the sliding part of rigid body by moving magnetic fluid through electromagnets by a method wherein the magnetic fluid is loaded into a casing provided with suction and delivery ports and a multitude of electromagnets are arranged around the casing. CONSTITUTION:When a coils C1, Cn-1, Cn are conducted upon starting a pumping stroke, the magnetic fluid 7a becomes a disc shape at the position of the coil C1 and closes the suction port 4 while the fluid 7b becomes cylindrical shape at the position of the coils Cn-1, Cn and opens the delivery port 5 whereby a cylinder 6 is communicated with a delivery space 8 through a communicating path 10. Next, the coil C2 is conducted for a predetermined period of time under conducting the coils C1, Cn-1, Cn and thereafter the conduction of the coil C1 is interrupted, the magnetic fluid 7a moves to the position of the coil C2 under maintaining the disc shape thereof, further, when interruption of conduction of the coils C3-Cn-3 are effected successively, the fluid 7a moves continuously to the deliverly port 5 to be discharged from the delivery port 5 and the fluid is newly sucked into the cylinder 6 through the suction port 4. When the pumping stroke is finished, a returning stroke is effected to repeat the pumping cycles.
