<p>A directional control valve 10 which forms a unit of a valve block has a main spool valve 48 slidable in a valve bore to connect load connections 66, 67 selectively to a single inlet passage 65 and respective exhaust chambers 70. Flow from each chamber 70 to a common exhaust passage 80 is adjustably controlled by a respective valve 85. Electrical wiring for one or two solenoid operated pilot valves 57 is accommodated in a passageway 29 flanked by wire tuck chambers 40. When stacked with similar valves, the corresponding passages 65, 80, 29 together with pilot air supply and exhaust passages 105 and 122 are aligned to form continuous passages through the valve block.
